OUR EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

All psychologists at Fleurieu Psychology Services are registered with the Psychological Board of Australia. Registration requires a minimum of 6 years training. Further information is available through the Psychological Board’s website – http://www.psychologyboard.gov.au.

Experiences of an individual psychologist can be found further in the page labelled “Our People”.

OUR APPROACH TO PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING

The goal of our time together is to explore the way you are thinking and while we welcome a discussion of the history of your problem, our focus will be on present circumstances and finding helpful ways to respond to them. It is likely that we will invite you to undertake some tasks between sessions. It will be important for you to attempt these to produce an effective outcome.

CONTACT AND EMERGENCIES

You are welcome to contact us between sessions, either by phone or by email.  However we do not provide an emergency service. The emergency number for problems with acute mental health is 13 14 65 in the metropolitan area or 1800 182 232 outside the metropolitan area (the ACIS team). Alternative sources of support in a crisis include Lifeline phone 13 11 14, Crisis Care 131611, and the Kids helpline phone 1800 55 1800
